Pacific Customs Brokers is a prominent Western Canada customs broker, working on behalf of companies in a wide range of industries including: retail, grocery, government services, aviation, electronics, entertainment and high tech industrial projects and more. Pacific Customs Brokers is the designated customs broker for the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, and will discuss the commercial impact of the 2010 Winter Games on Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia.

    Pacific Customs Brokers is offering information sessions pertaining to the pending U.S. Customs Regulations relating to shipping of "Residual Materials and Liquids". This regulation will affect any instrument of international traffic (tankers, drums, containers, etc.) regardless of amount or type, containing residual cargo must be manifested and entered in compliance with U.S. Customs laws. By attending the information session, you will hear from a Licensed Customs Broker as well as from a spokesperson from U.S. Customs and Border Protection. This session will be helpful and informative to importers of bulk products, carriers of cargo where residual materials remain on board, shippers, self-carried load shippers (petroleum, chemicals, food liquids, waste products, slops, cement, etc.).

    The afternoon session features The Audit Process and Administrative Monetary Penalty System (AMPS) Briefing, presented by Canada Border Services Agency - Trade Compliance Division, Pacific Region. This session is open to business owners, operational managers, purchasers, controllers, shippers, importers and non-resident importers of commercial goods. The briefing will include subjects such as; compliance verification process, common errors found during verifications, why compliance is so important and speak about the recent changes to Administrative Monetary Penalty System (AMPS).

    Pacific Customs Brokers will be offering eManifest Information Sessions to be presented by the Canada Border Services Agency. In September 2010, the third phase of Advance Commercial Information (ACI), known as eManifest, will be implemented. When eManifest is fully implemented, carriers, freight forwarders and importers in all modes of transportation will be required to electronically provide the CBSA with cargo, conveyance, crew/passenger, secondary and importer data before goods arrive in Canada. This information session will help you understand how eManifest affects your truck freight entering Canada and how to prepare for its implementation. Join us to hear the CBSA eManifest Coordinator for the Pacific Region as she speaks about the time-lines, requirements of eManifest and what will be expected from trade partners.
