Business Development Representative- Air Freight

Key Accountabilities

1) New and Existing Customers

  • Anticipate and meet the needs of customers in a proactive manner
  • Maximize volume, revenue, and margin within the sales territory
  • Cultivate strong relationships with customers through personal visits (when these resume), phone calls, and emails. Ensure all customer data is complete and up-to-date
  • Use strong communication skills to take advantage of opportunities and address problems
  • Coordinate effectively with the Inside Sales team and company internal resources to ensure customer needs are being met in a timely fashion
  • Develop, implement, and deliver on sales plan

 

2) New Business Opportunities

  • Identify new opportunities and develop features beneficial to customers
  • Participate in events and associations where customers may be found
  • Follow and report on trends in territory or customer base

3) Other Accountabilities

 

  • Understand vision and long-term goals of the corporation
  • Provide senior management with input and assistance on the development of volume, revenue, and margin growth goals
  • Other duties as required

 

Job Requirements

Education/Training:

  • Minimum 3- 5 years in air freight services. At least 2 years in sales capacity within this industry
  • High School Diploma. College / University studies in business or related discipline an asset
  • CIFFA Certificate an asset

Customer Service:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with dedication to providing superior service to internal and external customers
  • Highly organised multi-tasker
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Creative and entrepreneurial
  • Dedicated to working with team to exceed customer expectations
  • Willing and able to travel as the position requires
  • Good mix of hunter and farmer skills, with emphasis on hunter

Please note that we are located near the Pacific Highway Border Crossing. Public transportation is not available in this location, so reliable transportation is a must.
