Seminar: Canadian Food Inspection Agency
Did You Know? Just Because a Shipment Gets Delivered Does Not Mean It's Released by CFIA
Customs clearing regulated products through the Canadian border can be challenging if you do not know how the interaction between the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) works. Shipments of CFIA regulated goods cross the border and get delivered to Canadian consignees daily. But just because a shipment gets delivered does not mean it has been released by CFIA. In this seminar we will begin by reviewing what is required by the CFIA, the entry process at the border and the different reviews a shipment may undergo before release. This is a great opportunity for businesses with newly hired logistics staff to receive cost-effective training, refresh their awareness in the transportation industry, or collect professional development points for the maintenance of various designations. If you import regulated goods in both directions of the border, stay the full day to learn about the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
CFIA Regulated Goods and Industries:
Seafood, produce, grocery, meat, wood and lumber, horticulture, livestock, animal feed and drugs, pet food, vitamins and supplements.
