The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is currently experiencing a processing delay of 5 to 7 hours.
Who is this affecting? Every shipment entering Canada, cleared by any customs broker.
What does this mean? If your shipment is dependent on a CFIA release, please prepare for a delay. Pacific Customs Brokers can receive and submit your shipment release request to Canada Border Services Agency and CFIA, but will experience a X hour or greater delay in receiving acceptance by CFIA in addition to CBSA and Pacific Customs Brokers processing times.
When will my shipment be cleared for entry? It is unknown when the CFIA systems are expected to resume normal operation, however, we are working on your behalf to obtain this information from CFIA.
What do I need to do? Please ensure we have received your shipment documentation by inputting your Cargo, BACF or PARS number into our PARS Lookup to learn the most up-to-date status. To receive a text message the moment your shipment is accepted for entry, enter a desired phone number or email address in the Receive Notifications at: field. If you require assistance enabling this feature, please note we are available 24/7 to help you.
Pacific Customs Brokers will continue to communicate with CFIA on their system's delay and update this notification as new information emerges. Once optimal processing times resume, this message will no longer appear on our website.
