Twice a year, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) releases its Trade Compliance Verification priorities list. CBSA manages trade compliance with the tariff classification, customs valuation, and origin programs.
Summary Of The Verification Program
Verification is managed by way of random verifications or verification priorities. Some verification priorities carry over from year to year. The overall goal of these verifications are to ensure compliance with customs requirements and to ensure that the correct amount of duties is calculated.
- Random Verifications measure compliance rates and revenue lost.
- Verification Priorities are determined by risk-based, evergreen processes.
