The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) National Import Service Center is Expecting a Planned Period of Maintenance

March 8, 2024

From 9:00 PM PST on March 23 to March 25, 2024, at 4:00 AM PST, the CFIA is expected to undergo an extended period of maintenance on several of its vital systems resulting in a complete service outage.

We recommend the following:

  1. Avoid crossing during this outage window entirely if it is feasible to do so.
  2. If you cannot avoid this window, we encourage you to get your documents to us for processing by 9 AM PST Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the latest.
  3. If you cannot get your documents to us before the extended maintenance period, we can still process you, but due to the analog nature of the process during the outage, you can expect significant delays in your crossing and additional processing fees.

As a reminder, this is a CFIA-planned outage, and as a result, we have no control or input over its occurrence or length.

However, we are maintaining expanded staffing during this period to take your calls and process your shipments as quickly as possible ahead of time. Our weekend staff will also be increased to handle any concerns and aid in document processing. We maintain an open line of communication with CFIA and the National Import Service Center (NISC), so you can count on us to have the latest information as it happens.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. If you have any concerns or queries, we are available to take them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
