Brandon Smith is a Trade Manager specializing in accounting and CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM).
Raised in the border town of North Portal, Saskatchewan, Brandon attended the University of Regina and received his Bachelor of Business Administration before returning home in May of 2010 and taking a position with a local Customs brokerage his family had worked at for over 40 years.
During his time there, Brandon held a wide range of roles within the company. From accounting to payroll, processing, and customer service, Brandon came to intimately know every facet of Custom brokerage while also earning three further professional designations - a Certified Customs Specialist designation, a Certified Trade Compliance Specialist designation, and a professional designation from the Canada Border Services Agency.
In 2023, Brandon would embark on a new adventure and arrive at PCB as part of our CARM preparedness initiative. As the head speaker and presenter for all our CARM-related Learning Center courses, he is trusted to explain, simplify, and engage with each client’s unique challenges in the face of upcoming changes.
When he’s not getting businesses ready for the next wave of major CBSA changes, Brandon is a dedicated curling enthusiast and sports aficionado. In 2019, Brandon and his brother followed the Saskatchewan Roughriders cross country to every home and away game, and it is exactly that kind of commitment, loyalty, and enthusiasm that makes him an invaluable member of the PCB family.
