Customs Associate

Job description:

Did you know that Canada imported over $700 billion worth of goods from foreign suppliers last year? We are the team that helps make that possible! Have you ever considered a career in international trade?

Founded in 1954, PCB Global Trade Management plays an important role in assisting importers to ensure their products are eligible to enter into Canada. If it involves international trade, we’re the go-to experts!

Due to continued rapid growth, we are now recruiting for people for our full-time Customs Associate positions.

With time, experience and education, this position would ideally start your journey in international trade and onto becoming a fully-licensed Customs Broker. Customs Brokers assist importers with risk management, understanding regulations, ensuring compliance, and preparing declarations when shipments cross the border.

We are looking for driven professionals who are looking for a continuous learning culture, and a long term growth opportunity within international trade. Does that sound like you?

We offer:

  • Starting wage of $21.50/hour + shift premiums (i.e. additional $1.50 per hour for any hours worked between 6 pm and 11 pm and additional $2.50 for any hours worked between 11 pm and 5 am)
  • Full-time employment (37.5 hours/week)
  • Comprehensive Training
  • Growth and Development Opportunities
  • Fully paid Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits for employees and their families after three months
  • Bonus Plan
  • A Pension Plan
  • Education Support
  • Free Fitness Centre and Instructor

  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and professionally over the phone and by email
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Keen understanding of North American and world geography
  • Prior experience with freight, logistics, or customs brokerage a strong asset
  • Must be in Canada and have the right to work at the time of application. Applications from outside Canada will not be considered. PNP/Express Entry will not be considered.

We're located at the US/Canada border crossing (176th Street and 1st Avenue) in South Surrey/White Rock. There's no public transportation to our office so, you must have a vehicle to get here.

We are open 24/7/365, so we never shut off the lights and always have the "We're Here to Help!" sign up. This means that you will be on a shift-based schedule, with time assignments which will vary over the year and will include overnights, afternoons, and days. This is not a Monday to Friday daytime job. The shift will also usually include a Saturday and/or Sunday. That said, you don't get a mish-mash of random shifts that disappear as the week goes on. Afterall this isn’t retail!

If you are interested in applying for this position, please submit your application through Indeed or on our career site.

We look forward to hearing from you!
