Guest Speaker: Anne Callaghan, U.S. Consul General

Anne Callaghan is a career senior Foreign Service officer with the U.S. State Department. Before her assignment as Consul General in Vancouver she was posted in southeastern Iraq, Rome, Bogotá, Tijuana, Perth and Tokyo. A native of New Jersey, she received her undergraduate degree in East Asian Studies from Colby College and graduate degrees from the University of Michigan School of Library and Information Science and the National War College. She speaks Japanese, Spanish, and Italian, and is the recipient of U.S. State Department Superior Honor and Meritorious Honor awards and the Department of the Army Superior Civilian Service award.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Canada (AmCham Canada) is a private, non-profit, membership organization that promotes the two-way flow of trade and investment between Canada and the United States. AmCham Canada is committed to promoting trade opportunities, advancing economic growth, and promoting the cross-border mobility of people, goods and services. It is headquartered in Toronto, with chapters in Ontario (Toronto and Ottawa), Quebec (Montreal and Quebec City), the West (Calgary), and Atlantic Canada (Halifax).

The American Chamber of Commerce exists in all developed nations around the world to enhance U.S. commercial interests. The Canadian chapter of this organisation is a recent addition.  AmCham Canada - Pacific Chapter held its first roundtable event in November 2012 and as a member of the Board of Directors we started meeting monthly since January 2013.
