CBSA Concludes Review of Export Prices for Whole Potatoes

August 5, 2025

On July 31, 2025, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) released the results of the administrative review for the Whole Potatoes SIMA Anti-dumping case. This has resulted in adjusted normal values and export prices for certain whole potatoes that originate in or are exported from the US for use or consumption in BC.

The adjusted normal values have increased significantly over the previously assessed amounts.  This will result in anti-dumping duties payable to CBSA when potatoes are imported into BC at prices below the updated normal values.

The affected HS code is 0701.90.00.20.

Exclusions include:

  • seed potatoes;
  • imports during the period from May 1 to July 31 (inclusive) of each calendar year;
  • red potatoes;
  • yellow potatoes;
  • exotic potato varieties; and
  • white and russet potatoes imported in 50-pound cartons in the following count sizes: 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80.
  • whole potatoes certified as organic by a recognized certification agency
