US Doubles Steel and Aluminum Tariffs to 50%

Steel and aluminum imports into the US under Section 232 have been increased from 25% to 50%. A Proclamation was issued on June 3rd, with an implementation date of 12:01 AM ET on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. 

On May 30, 2025, the US Government announced its intention to increase tariffs. This measure will increase the tariffs on steel and aluminum introduced on March 12, 2025, with the exception of aluminum and steel from the UK, which will remain at 25% until July 9th.
